Converting a quote to an invoice actually saves time
Graphic designer since 2019. Clients always wanted the same lines on quote and invoice — I typed everything twice in Google Docs. Now I send the quote, client approves, one click and the invoice is ready with correct VAT. Took an evening to set up, then it runs on its own.
Good enough to start after KvK registration
Registered with KvK in October, didn't want to pay a lot for heavy accounting software. The basics are enough for me: I'm under 10 invoices. PDF looks professional with my logo. Dashboard finally showed what was coming in. Only downside: no bank link yet — but I knew that upfront.
Sent a reminder, invoice paid the same week

Can I start for free?
Yes. You can register without a credit card and create invoices and quotes right away.
Is SmartWerk an accounting package?
No. SmartWerk helps you invoice, follow up and stay organised. For full bookkeeping use your accountant or an accounting package.
Is the tax calculator fiscal advice?
No. The calculator gives an indication for freelancers. For final returns or advice always consult an accountant or the Tax Authority.
What about privacy and my data?
We process data in line with GDPR. In Dashboard → Profile you can export your data (ZIP/JSON) or delete your account. See our privacy policy at /privacy for storage (Google Cloud), payments (Stripe), your rights, and retention exceptions.
Can my accountant access my data?
Yes. You can export a bookkeeper package (ZIP) and invite your bookkeeper to the bookkeeper portal. Each prepared package appears in their secure inbox — alongside email or a share link.
Which languages does SmartWerk support?
SmartWerk is available in 7 languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, Polish and Russian. Switch anytime via the language menu on the website or in your dashboard.
